In June, with AOPA Bulgaria’s support, Rallye Aero France was held with 18 aircrafts with a maximum take-off weight below 5.7 tonnes. The aircraft types are Cessna 172, 182, Cirrus SR22, Lancair Legacy, Glasair, Piper P28, P236, Mooney Socata TB20. The Rallye de France route passed through France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, east to Georgia. Westbound, it passed through Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany and France. In Bulgaria, Primorsko Airport served the Rallye Aero France flights. With the active assistance of AOPA Bulgaria, customs and border control was established at Primorsko airport, which happens for the first time. AOPA Bulgaria and Rallye Aero France participants expressed their gratitude for the great customs and border control. Primorsko and Albena AD provided excellent organization around the ground services and accommodation making everyone very pleased. The flights took place in a complicated meteorological environment and thanks to the professionalism of the pilots and the air traffic controllers, the rally passed without incidents. The Rallye organizer expressed their tremendous gratitude for the excellent organization, the welcoming reception in Bulgaria and the wonderful service. Pilots from Rallye Aero France said it was extremely beautiful to fly over our country and want to visit Bulgaria again. AOPA Bulgaria will continue to work actively with its partners around the world in order to promote general aviation and to create a more welcoming environment for GA flights in Bulgaria.
